Who can take this course?

- Ages 10 and up
- No prior scuba experience required. You should have basic swimming ability and be in good physical health.

What you’ll learn

The SSI Open Water course is divided into three phases:
1. Online Knowledge Development — Free online instruction with a digital logbook and digital certification card. Learn dive theory at your own pace via divessi.com or the SSI app (iOS/Android).  
2. Confined Water (Pool) Training — Two evening pool sessions where you master essential skills like mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, controlled descents and ascents.  
3. Open Water Dives — Two days of supervised open water dives to apply your skills and earn certification.

Fall Course schedule 

- Monday start (classes begin every Monday)  
- Friday 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Orientation & Dive Planning  
- Saturday 1:00 PM – 5 Pool One
- Sunday 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM Pool Two
Following Weekend 
-Saturday 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Mammoth Lake, Lake Jackson, TX
-Sunday 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM at Mammoth Lake, Lake Jackson, TX
-Monday Return your rental gear and get certified!
