Instructor-tested at Lake Travis and Mansfield Dam. We dive what we sell.
Fins are the most personal piece of propulsion gear you own — and the most abused category in online shopping. People buy on price, get the wrong blade stiffness for their kick style, and wonder why their legs are burning after 30 minutes. At OTA Diving in Katy, Texas, we don't let that happen.
Our instructors dive these fins. Not in a pool — at Lake Travis and Mansfield Dam, the same sites your next Texas dive will likely be. We know which fins handle the silty bottom, which ones give you enough authority in light current, and which ones are overkill for a recreational diver who just wants a comfortable 60-foot dive without cramping up.
We carry fins from Mares, Apeks, Atomic Aquatics, Hollis, Zeagle, Fourth Element, and Oceanic — open-heel, full-foot, split, and paddle blade — all personally selected and tested by the people selling them.
Open-heel fins — worn with booties, more power, better for Texas lake diving and cold water. This is what most of our customers dive.
Full-foot fins — barefoot fit, lighter, ideal for warm water travel, snorkeling, and cruise trips.
Split fins — less leg effort, good for divers with knee issues or those who prefer a flutter kick.
Paddle fins — traditional blade, maximum thrust, preferred by instructors and tech divers. What most of our staff dive.
Come see us at our Katy, TX location near Cinco Ranch. We'll match you to the right fin for your kick style, your diving environment, and your budget — and we'll back it up with the kind of advice that only comes from actually using the gear.
